http://www.fortcalgary.com/dea...

This turn-of-the-century Victorian mansion was recently restored to its former glory and is one of Calgary's newest theme restaurants. Part of the Fort Calgary Interpretive Center, the house and garden are used for casual dining as well as for hosting wedding receptions, business meetings and corporate retreats. The charming decor and staff uniforms are decidedly historical with an 1890's pioneer focus. Steak, garden salads, pasta dishes and a good selection of wines form the majority of the menu, but the food takes backseat to the atmosphere. Theatre companies occasionally use the Dean House for "Mystery Dinners," where the diners take part in staged murder mysteries. Reservations are recommended.

Rocky's Burger Bus

For burgers & fries
1120 46th Avenue Southeast
Calgary, AB T2G 2A6
Canada
+1 403 243 0405
At Rocky's, they don't stand on ceremony. In fact, when you place your order outside this old red bus, you have to stand on top of a step and speak clearly into one of the windows. They offer fast, but delicious food and you can order a number of burgers, hot dogs and various kinds of sandwiches. There are three picnic tables behind the bus, but most people take their delectables and go. Although the fare is simple, it is delicious and well prepared, and the service is friendly and fast.

Spolumbo's has been serving its signature spicy sausages in local restaurants for years, but only recently opened up its warehouse-style diner in Inglewood. Considered by many critics to be the best sausage maker in Calgary, it serves its soups, sandwiches and hot meals in a cafeteria-type setting with large glass display cases and heat lamps. There are about 30 tables inside the dining room, which is spacious and decorated with the old football jerseys of the Spolumbo sons. The food is inexpensive; a filling meal rarely exceeds CAD 5.

Treasures Of China

All-you-can-eat Chinese

(between 90th and 94th Avenue Southeast)
Calgary, AB T2J 3G8
Canada
+1 403 252 6888
http://www.treasuresofchina.ca/
This place bills itself as serving the world's largest and most varied Chinese buffet. While that may be hard to verify, it is certainly true there's an awful lot of food here, everything from mainstream Chinese dishes and Japanese sushi to frozen pizzas and an ice cream bar. The deal is simple. Pick up a plate and start browsing the CAD 12-a-head buffet lines, going for refills as often as can be managed. More ambitious diners can choose from raw ingredients bars and have it cooked to specifications by staff at an open Mongolia-style grill. A more traditional dim sum brunch is served on Sundays. Service is in a bright, open room done in soft lilac colors, though the tables are crammed and people are constantly on the move.
