Form and Purpose in Ceramic Art |
7th Ave SW Calgary, AB T2P 0W4 Canada +1 403 264 6497 http://www.artcentral.ca/tenan... |
Located in the bowels of the Art Central Building in downtown Calgary, this ceramic art studio's great appeal is in the beholder's interpretation of each and every ceramic piece that comes from the imagination of the artist. Onlookers will find a giant kiln in the premises that provoke further question. Though the studio produces anything from mugs, vases, plates, boxes and teapots, there are also sculptural renditions such as a person's torso, a got-to-handle-it mug that also has function and form. Visitors to this ceramics studio are surprised at the diverse yet humor-filled offerings produced by the artist. - Jasmin So-Armada Review © 2007, Wcities |

7th Ave SW Calgary, AB T2P 0W4 Canada +1 403 850 9954 http://www.artcentral.ca/tenan... |
This Art Central gallery in downtown Calgary has some of the most dynamic yet realistic art collection seen this side of Western Canada. The artist in residence uses the rich mediums of oil and watercolor to render his realistic and abstract art forms. The recent works of the artist are thought provoking art pieces that interpret the harsh realities of street life, homelessness, and the marginalized in society, all done in large, grand pieces. This working art gallery cum studio produces commissionable art pieces, portraits and originals for the serious art collector. - Jasmin So-Armada Review © 2007, Wcities |

A Calgary shopping institution. |
318 11th Avenue Southeast Calgary, AB T2G 0Y2 Canada +1 403 262 6994 / +1 800 909 6994 http://www.ribtor.com/ |
Remember that funny little corner store when you were growing up as a kid? The one that had everything? Well, Ribtor is its big brother. It's been part of the Calgary shopping landscape for close to fifty years and offers thousands of items at very reasonable prices. This is especially important if you have children and are looking to stay on a budget. The Army Surplus section is worth a visit just to check out some of the archaic and somewhat frightening military ware. Ribtor stocks everything from Coleman stoves to fishing poles; garden hoses to basketballs. In fact, if they don't have it, they promise to find it. Review © 2007, Wcities |
