Authentic military surplus store |
1005 11th St SE Inglewood Calgary, AB T2G 3E9 Canada +1 403 265 1754 |
This shop has been serving Calgarians for close to 50 years and is now a city landmark. Even the rich and powerful drop by: the last time singer/actor/diva Cher was in town she picked up a couple of military flight jackets. This is one of the most authentic military surplus stores in North America with a staff conversant in military memorabilia. Crown offers everything from waterproof matches to footwear and binoculars, and most items are very reasonably priced. Even if you don't buy anything, it makes for great browsing. Just like a day at the beach |
202, 200 Barclay Parade Southwest Eau Claire Market Calgary, AB T2P 0M8 Canada +1 403 237 8326 |
Echo House is reminiscent of all those beach party movies made in the 60s. The walls are adorned with surfboards and snowboards and most of the clothing items are centered around, you guessed it, a day at the beach. It offers a whole range of clothing and accessories including shorts, bikinis, pants and shirts. The trendy sunglasses start around CAD16 and the jewelry is chic and reasonably priced. Echo House is geared to the younger crowd, but check it out; everyone deserves a beach-break. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The front and back areas are packed with cool stuff for young guys and girls, from bikinis and sunglasses to bags, watches, shoes, jewelry, surfboards and skateboards. During the winter season they stock more for the snow with snowboarding equipment and clothes. Although the ladies' clothing sizes run small (so do the changing rooms), the quality and choice of funky fashion clothing is exceptional. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Clothes for the Entire Family |
3625 Shaganappi Trail North-West Unit C013A, Market Mall Calgary, AB T3A 0E2 Canada +1 403 286 0847 http://www.hm.com/ca/storeloca... |
The Calgary H&M store opened in 2007, 3 years after the success of their first Canadian store in Toronto. Clothes-shopping for the entire family can be done collectively at H&M. Adult, teenage and children's wear for both men and women are all available under one roof. Often clothes-stores with chains have the same designs to offer, but H&M tries to bend that cliché and provide variety in every shop. While a host of dress stores are lined up in the Market Mall, H&M wouldn't be hard to miss. To add to all those pluses, the prices remain extremely reasonable. Review © 2007, Wcities |

318 11th Avenue Southeast Calgary, AB T2G 0Y2 Canada +1 403 262 6994 / +1 800 909 6994 http://www.ribtor.com/ |
Remember that funny little corner store when you were growing up as a kid? The one that had everything? Well, Ribtor is its big brother. It's been part of the Calgary shopping landscape for close to fifty years and offers thousands of items at very reasonable prices. This is especially important if you have children and are looking to stay on a budget. The Army Surplus section is worth a visit just to check out some of the archaic and somewhat frightening military ware. Ribtor stocks everything from Coleman stoves to fishing poles; garden hoses to basketballs. In fact, if they don't have it, they promise to find it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great treasures to be found |
134 - 71st Avenue Southeast Fisher Park Calgary, AB T2Y 0E4 Canada +1 403 255 7514 http://www.womeninneed.net/ind... |
This particular clothing store, one block from the MacLeod Trail, began several years ago to assist women who were re-entering the workforce after leaving an abusive situation. Its motto remains the same today: To help those who, for whatever reason, are unable to help themselves. There are actually six of these stores in the city, and all accept donated items such as clothing, furniture and children's toys. There is a lot to choose from, and even though it takes some digging, don't let that wear you down. You will find some great treasures here! Review © 2007, Wcities |
