Body Shop

Nature's Call
3625 Shaganappi Trail North-West
Market Mall
Calgary, AB T3A 0E2
Canada

http://www.thebodyshop.ca/body...
The decrease over the past decade in the use of chemical cosmetics and body-care products has been alarming. An increasing number of people are taking to natural products instead. The Market Mall houses the Body Shop, a skin-care store which specializes in the same. Adverse effects of chemicals has been experienced in no other products than hair-care. Hence, it isn't surprising that shampoos remain one of the key selling items. Ensuring the rest of your body is catered too as well, the store includes a range of body lotion, bath gel and soaps. You can even emit fragrances every bit like a flower through their perfumes on offering. Visiting this store could well end up being a wise choice.

Hot Wax

Classic used records
114 10 Street Northwest
Calgary, AB T2N 1V3
Canada
+1 403 238 0055
It is an experience just to walk into the tiny hole-in-the-wall shop and stroll through the decades of vintage rock paraphernalia adorning every flat surface. The selection of used and unusual vinyl records, cassette tapes, CDs, and even 8 track cassettes is incredible. It is difficult to distinguish between veteran customers and staff, as both share a great enthusiasm for the music and know exactly where to find the rarest recordings.

Megatunes Music

For alternative music tastes
932 17th Avenue Southwest
Calgary, AB T2T 0A2
Canada
+1 403 229 3022
http://www.megatunes.com/
Specializing in folk, roots, punk, jazz and world music, Megatunes avoids the glitz and hype found in most large, mass-outlet record stores. It is the place to find rare recordings of unusual genres. Featuring many limited-edition boxed sets, it caters to those people who truly appreciate music and are enthusiastic collectors of even the most obscure works. The walls are covered in tattered vintage posters and record sleeves from classic 1960s concerts, as well as posters advertising the latest pop releases.

It sells independently-designed cards, postcards, stationery and envelopes, many of which are printed on post-consumer recycled and unbleached paper. While some of the cards have the traditional overly sentimental or silly verses and pictures, most feature original and thought-provoking essays and themes. Ribtor

A Calgary shopping institution.
318 11th Avenue Southeast
Calgary, AB T2G 0Y2
Canada
+1 403 262 6994 / +1 800 909 6994
http://www.ribtor.com/
Remember that funny little corner store when you were growing up as a kid? The one that had everything? Well, Ribtor is its big brother. It's been part of the Calgary shopping landscape for close to fifty years and offers thousands of items at very reasonable prices. This is especially important if you have children and are looking to stay on a budget. The Army Surplus section is worth a visit just to check out some of the archaic and somewhat frightening military ware. Ribtor stocks everything from Coleman stoves to fishing poles; garden hoses to basketballs. In fact, if they don't have it, they promise to find it.

Tramp's CDs Books & Games

Great second hand music
108 Crowchild Trail Northwest
Calgary, AB T2N 4R9
Canada
+1 403 270 2030
One of the reasons this store is so popular among audio-philes is because of the trend to recycle and reuse. This is true even when it comes to listening to music. The gently used CD's may have had another incarnation at someone else's abode, but most are in perfect condition, and all are guaranteed. Most CD's begin at CAD 10, and the selection is huge. You'll find row after row of classics like The Stones, Janis Joplin and The Beatles, but they also have a large selection of current favorites as well.
