Browns has become something of an institution since it first opened in Brighton in 1973. Comfortable and stylish, it is also spacious and the bar is always busy. Starters include Smoked Irish Salmon, Duck Liver Parfait, Caesar salad and roasted red peppers. Main entrees include Swordfish Steak, Confit of Duck, Browns Lamb Steak, Scottish T-bone steak and Chickpea Casserole. Lighter fare includes hamburger with chips, steak sandwich, or Char Grilled Tarragon Chicken. For dessert, try the sticky toffee pudding, lemon tart, summer pudding or thick ice-cream milkshakes.

Favorite lunchtime entrees include Smoked Chicken Salad and Brisket of Beef and mashed potatoes with Burgundy sauce. If you prefer a sandwich, then try the filled baguette selection, served with homemade fried potatoes and mixed leaf salad. Choosing what to order in the evening is even more difficult, where the range of excellent dishes increases. Beverages include Cafe Latin, Earl Grey tea, and a wide range of wines, liqueurs and soft drinks.
