Canada reaches Cambridge |
7 Bradwells Court Cambridge CB1 1NH United Kingdom +44 1223 32 4544 |
If you prefer a soft North American muffin to a traditional English rock cake, then head towards the bus station, where nearby you'll find this small cafe. There are two floors, though the upper floor tends to be more smoky and older male dominated. However downstairs you can also sit outside when the weather is good, and if you're not in the mood for a sweet cake, then try the savory muffins available such as the pesto or basil pizza varieties. This cozy Polish cafe is definitely worth the visit. Fresh and colorfully decorated inside, the walls are adorned with oil paintings. They are well known for their specialty teas served in beautiful huge cups, which go well with the variety of polish pastries available. (Ask the owner to taste one the specialty Polish baguettes or cheesecakes.) If you really enjoy your lunch, then the cafe also has other Polish specialties to take away. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Lunch with Pierrot |
54 King Street Cambridge CB1 1LN United Kingdom +44 1223 35 5711 |
As you can guess from the name the interior is suitably decorated with pictures of every type of clown imaginable. Emphasis is placed on speed here and self-service is the order of the day. Along with tasty cheesecakes to go with the usual coffees and teas, you can get good Italian food such as pasta and salad though the food certainly comes at a price. The crowd here is definitely young and you'll finds small groups of students chattering away at the tables. Review © 2007, Wcities |

More than a decent cuppa! |
4 King's Parade Cambridge CB2 1SJ United Kingdom +44 1223 36 5068 |
Come to this smallish cafe and bistro and you might just bump into a couple of earnest academics in the middle of great philosophical debates. Not surprisingly perhaps with King's College opposite it tends to attract a good art student crowd which adds to the lofty atmosphere of this cafe. That said though it really is a great place to come and you can eat a hot lunch in this central cafe. Review © 2007, Wcities |
