Caffe Uno

Smart Italian joint
32 Bridge Street
Cambridge CB2 1UJ
United Kingdom
+44 1223 31 4954
http://www.caffeuno.co.uk/
Located on the quayside, by the River Cam, Caffe Uno is an extremely pleasant spot. You will enjoy a taste of the continental atmosphere, whether you're out for dinner with a group of friends (it is particularly good for parties) or whether you fancy a quiet meal for two. You can even take advantage of the patio area outside the cafe, relax over a steaming cappuccino and watch the world rush by. Caffe Uno offers an extensive range of Italian cooking (pasta, pizza and risotto), just like mamma used to make. And you can choose between a meal in the cafe itself or you can take away some of the delicious pizza treats.

Clowns

Lunch with Pierrot
54 King Street
Cambridge CB1 1LN
United Kingdom
+44 1223 35 5711
As you can guess from the name the interior is suitably decorated with pictures of every type of clown imaginable. Emphasis is placed on speed here and self-service is the order of the day. Along with tasty cheesecakes to go with the usual coffees and teas, you can get good Italian food such as pasta and salad though the food certainly comes at a price. The crowd here is definitely young and you'll finds small groups of students chattering away at the tables.

In Cambridge lies a hidden gem called De Luca Cucina & Bar. Serving up a fusion of both British and Italian fare, it goes down well with the locals and tourists alike. Hit the bar before you sit to dine—they have many heady cocktails! The ambiance with its dim lights, soothing music and unpretentious décor, makes it all the more comfortable and cozy. They also have a private dining area where you can hold small, private functions and dos. Catch some live action here every Sunday, as musicians get together to throw a performance for the audience!

Don Pasquale

Central Italian eaterie
12 Market Hill

You will be spoilt for choice at Don Pasquale. You can enjoy a coffee or a meal in the bar pizzeria on the ground floor, or a full a la carte menu on the first floor. In the summer months, the restaurant takes advantage of its front terrace area, from where you'll have a great view of Market Square and Great St Mary's Church. The restaurant is fully licensed and the ground floor bar pizzeria provides a real slice of Italian life with pizza, snacks, cappuccino, hot chocolate and Italian style ice cream.

Galleria

Continental-style restaurant
33 Bridge Street
Cambridge CB2 1UW
United Kingdom
+44 1223 36 2054
This is a well regarded and quality central restaurant. You'll find it over towards Magdalene College and just before the bridge over the river. It is a delightful small restaurant and serves two-course lunches and three-course evening dinners. You will find the waiters are exceptionally helpful and the chef is always willing to adapt a dish to an individual's personal preferences or requirements. The pizzas and fish dishes come highly recommended!

Mamma Amalfi

Tasty Italian dishes
106 Grafton Shopping Centre
Cambridge CB1 1PS
United Kingdom
+44 1223 46 2464
Located on the top floor of the Grafton Centre, just next to the Warner Village cinema, Mamma Amalfi looks like a quaint farmhouse—inside and out. The restaurant isn't the largest in town, but what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in ambience. The service is always efficient and very friendly, the food is of the highest standard and the range of mouth-watering dishes on offer will dazzle you.

Savino's

Authentic Italian cuisine
3 Emmanuel Street
Cambridge CB2 1NE
United Kingdom
+44 1223 56 6186
You'll get freshly baked ciabatta sandwiches here made with real imported Italian flour. The pizza style breads also use only authentic ingredients from Italy, virgin olive oil, Italian tomatoes, Parma ham, mozzarella and basil and oregano. This cafe is a real gem and is lovely in the summer when you can sit outside or simply settle down indoors to watch MTV or flick through a newspaper or magazine.
