One of Cannes' best known and most popular, café terraces is always jam-packed, come summer or winter (when it's heated). Its success is due to the attentive service provided, an attractive menu of Italian and Mediterranean dishes, ice cream and cocktails, great atmosphere and an enviable location facing the port and the Palais des Festivals. It is also conveniently located close to the chic boutiques in Rue d'Antibes. This spot is also the ideal place for celebrity-spotting.

It offers customers an original choice: pizza made the traditional way or from buckwheat dough. Those who prefer pasta can choose from various kinds, including spaghetti and fettuccini, accompanied by sauces such as Au Pistou (Pesto), Cheese, or Al Arrabiata (quite spicy). There are over twenty different pizzas and as many other dishes to choose from. Expect to pay EUR7.17-9.60 for pizzas; pasta dishes cost EUR8.69-10.82; there is a set menu available for EUR17.53.

+33 4 93 39 2256 Something of a local institution, this pizzeria's pleasant décor, great food, reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere have made it one of the town's favourite eateries. The dining area is spread over two floors (with an attractive mezzanine), and there's also a terrace. The restaurant seats almost 400, and while it gets pretty noisy, the pizzas are always good - no matter what time of day. Spaghetti and fresh pasta is also available.

+33 4 9394 0828 Named after the famous Italian volcano, this restaurant is located between two prestigious hotels: the Carlton and the Martinez. Its cuisine is bursting with Italian flavours. Start with Antipasti (similar to French hors d'oeuvres), consisting of cold meats, peppers in olive oil, and other bite-sized delicacies. Pasta and pizza also feature on the menu, along with a wide variety of meat and seafood dishes. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is very professional. Expect to pay EUR23-35 for a meal from the à la carte menu.
