Big Sleep Hotel

Designer rooms
Bute Terrace
Cardiff CF10 2FE
United Kingdom
+44 29 2063 6363
http://www.thebigsleephotel.com/
The Big Sleep is set opposite Cardiff International Arena, within an easy walk of Cardiff Bay. The imposing tower block is one of the tallest hotels in the city. It hides an interior that is the last word in modern design, with light and spacious rooms, pale colours and stripped wood flooring. Large, modern rooms have king-sized beds, 15-channel satellite TV, air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and fantastic views across the city. It also boasts of some rooms that were designed by the actor, John Malkovich ... so, fans and name-droppers should definitely consider staying here.

A modern hotel set on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay's East Dock, Holiday Inn is right in the middle of the Bay development. There's plenty to see and do in the immediate area, while Cardiff city centre itself is only ten minutes' walk away. A good choice for budget travellers who want to be at the heart of things, the hotel charges on a per room basis and so proves especially good value for families and people sharing.

Dine at the plush and magnificent Future Inns at Cardiff. With a splendid view of the Cardiff bay, you can untwine at the spa and gym. Then relish home baked caramelized onions and smoked haddock at the restaurant and of course the toothsome wines. The corporate can have meetings at the available conference rooms. There is a free internet access in each room. The hotel team is very friendly and helpful. Reservations can be made online.

Hanover International Hotel and Club

Sitting on the dock of a bay
Schooner Way
Atlantic Wharf
Cardiff CF10 5RT
United Kingdom
+44 29 2047 5000
Set on the waterfront at Cardiff Bay, this luxury, four-star hotel maintains a maritime theme throughout, from the external cruise liner architecture, to the aquamarine colour scheme and interior promenades. A recent redevelopment added a new wing of bedrooms, five suites, a penthouse suite with roof garden, and new conference and leisure facilities. The trendy Cardiff Bay area is a new magnet for the upwardly-mobile, with large-scale redevelopment still going on. The hotel provides a peaceful haven from all the bustle, but is still within minutes of many upmarket restaurants, pubs and other attractions.

Travel Inn Cardiff Bay

Budget accommodation for the family
Keen Road
Cardiff Bay
Cardiff CF10 5JR
United Kingdom
http://www.travelinn.co.uk
Not exactly in the heart of Cardiff Bay (in fact, this modern, concrete hotel only just about qualifies to be in the Bay at all), but for city-lovers it may just be the perfect location. Set between the city centre and the trendy new waterfront developments, it's only a few minutes walk from either and, true to the chain's style, the prices are about the cheapest you'll get for such a central location - particularly if you're travelling as part of a group. Accommodation is charged on a per-room basis, regardless of how many you manage to squeeze in, and the rooms can comfortably hold two adults and two children.
