What began as a simple park for cyclists has now become an intricate series of paths. Whether you ride a bike for fun and exercise, or as a means of alternative transportation, you can now take advantage of the "Northside to Southside Alternative Transportation Corridor." From the Tennessee Aquarium to the Incline Railway, cyclists pedal along on-street bike lanes and separate paths. Convenient bike racks are being placed along the way in front of businesses, restaurants and attractions. This park is a favorite spot among downtown workers for lunch. World's longest pedestrian bridge |

Erected in 1890, the Walnut Street Bridge was the first to connect Chattanooga's downtown with the North Shore. Structural modifications have been made to turn the bridge into what is now a pedestrian walkway. The 1/2-mile span is the longest pedestrian bridge in the world and very popular among local residents.
