African-American classics and memorabilia
333 South State Street
Chicago, IL 60604

What do award-winning author Maya Angelou and retired military general Colin Powell have in common? Well, the obvious answer is that they are both African-Americans who have made great contributions to our nation. The other answer is that they have both made author appearances at this downtown bookstore featuring Afrocentric literature, greeting cards and memorabilia. Opened in 1990, the store offers reading by guest authors at least monthly.
