The vibe at Niu Japanese Fusion Lounge is hip yet casual. The beautifully-appointed interior is sleek and inviting, so it makes a good pre-or-post movie stop (AMC Theaters is adjacent to the restaurant). The menu is split into "Traditional" and "Fusion" items. Sushi, sashimi, tempura and wok stir fries accompany less traditional concoctions such as the Sexy Mexican roll (shrimp, spicy crab, and jalapeño topped with avocado) or the Shishito Peppers (scallops, crab, and cream cheese stuffed in a fried jalapeño pepper). Menu items range from around $5 to $25, so this place is ideal for a quick and affordable bite.
