Located in the Wabash and Roosevelt area, Opera offers diners traditional Chinese dishes with a distinctly creative twist. Among such standards as pork and ginger dumplings and Peking duck are surprises like the slow-roasted Scottish salmon, served with caramelized tangerine sauce. The dessert menu also reflects this originality with the bittersweet chocolate and coconut pudding, served with coconut sorbet and macaroons. Housed in a building that once housed both a Baptist church and a historic film storage area, Opera offers seating in curtained "vaults" each containing two tables, allowing for a more intimate dining experience.
