Gone are the days when writer Nelson Algren frequented this smoky jazz club. Today, it is filled by starving artist types who come to listen to whatever the DJ is playing. Sometimes jazz. Sometimes rock. Sometimes, well, just about anything. It is worth a visit to admire the old school interior and to recall a time when this was a real man's man neighborhood, fraught with the gritty characters that once gave Chicago its vitality and life.
