Brilliant Filipino food |
2049 West Division Street Chicago, IL 60622 +1 773 772 2727 |
Filipino cuisine has not yet caught on as much as some other Asian cuisines, but Rambutan is sure to change that, at least in Chicago. This cozy, comfortable establishment is making it easy for rookies to learn to love Filipino food. Dishes tend to be small and very inexpensive so you can try a wide variety of flavors. The Humba, a tender pork filet with a sweetly flavored, fermented black bean sauce, is highly recommended, and the appetizers are all tempting and good; the Shrimp Fritters are stellar. On Sunday for brunch, Rambutan offers a Filipino version of Dim Sum. Servers walk around with trays loaded with dumplings and various bite-sized treats for you to select. Review © 2009, Wcities |
