Of all the beautiful churches in the city, this is one of the most interesting in appearance. While shopping on Clark Street in Lincoln Park, turn west down Deming Place for a couple blocks to soak in this Byzantine style church that also combines Romanesque elements. Part of the church's interior is actually a copy of the ceiling of the apses from the St. Clemente in Rome. Statues, dozens of stained glass windows and mosaic decoration adorn and wrap around the altar. Review © 2009, Wcities |
