When you enter Boyajian's, you see right away that although the store space is limited, the place really is a bazaar, complete with tables crammed and piled with things to examine and to ask about. To skim through this store would be a mistake because there is such a large variety of things from Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Latin America and everywhere else in between. It would be a shame to miss anything. The only drawback to this shop of curiosities is that it does not accept credit cards. Review © 2007, Wcities |

If you are a bargain shopper, you have got to stop here and pick through the wide selection of wares, which includes leather goods, stereos, TVs and clothing. It also has accessories, with everything from hair clips to cosmetics and jewelry. There is also a wide selection of ethnic foods available for munching while you browse. The cover charge of fifty cents (a quarter for seniors)is worth it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Groceries on the run |
1581 North Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL 60622 +1 773 252 5578 |
If you are here, that usually means you are in need of a pack of cigarettes or are trying to find something to stave off the munchies. Though this place poses as a corner market, do not be fooled. The shelves are hardly stocked with products which could be considered consumable, unless you are 19 and out on your own for the first time. Always busy on the weekends, the ice cream selection is great. And there is an ATM if you run out of money and need to buy more drinks. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A visit to the Fox & Obel Cafe is a throwback in time—to the age when intellectuals gathered and boldly expressed their views regarding politics and literature. The European ambience, the smell of coffee brewing, and freshly baked artisan bread can be quite luring in itself. Then there are also dishes like the Black Angus Steak Frites that make one want to return. The place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can opt for signature snacks like the Cobb Omelet or go for the amazing Grilled Cheese Sandwich, which, by popular opinion, holds the highest rank in Chicago. Watch out for the season's specials and feast on some homemade delights. What's more, the Fox & Obel Market lets you pick up something on your way back home. Catering services are also available.
