What Kennedy Ashinze has done with this piece of real estate is stunning. The store with amulets, candles, jackets, sneakers, rings, bags, Wazobia masks, tees, shrugs, CDs, books, and more is not your regular corner side shop. The owner/DJ also creates his music, which can be purchased. Look out for customized clutches and household products, such as wooden bowls and leather throw mats with pillows. The stuff is pricey but with such quality you simply cannot complain. Review © 2007, Wcities |

If you are into burning tobacco, this place will satisfy your cravings. And then some. The shop has an excellent selection of pipe tobaccos, imported cigarettes (including a fine selection of domestic as well as the Nat Sherman line of fine cigarettes), vintage lighters and antique ashtrays. The service here is personal, and the shop offers fine cigars at prices markedly more reasonable than the downtown shops. More of a mail order place than a retail store, this shop is infamous among true blue record collectors for only keeping weekend hours. But some of the best selections in the city can be found here, from dusties and blues to alternative, Caribbean, soul and out of print or imported titles. However, the store actually specializes in soul, jazz, Latin, funk, acid jazz and old school hip hip. It is 'Chicago's Most Intimate Bar' because it's tiny. So tiny, matter of fact, that patrons are literally forced to double-up in the aisles like matches in a book. The bar has 18 stools, and that is about all the room there is, aside from a slender aisle facing along the window front. For such a tiny place, the drink selection is huge, especially the variety of single-malt bourbons and small-batch whiskeys. Drink prices are reasonable, and The Matchbox sells a handy selection of cigars, cutters and smoking accessories, as well. An eclectic crowd hangs out at this bar, from white-collar businessmen to truck drivers, and everybody is friendly despite the confining space. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Used record stores are a dime a dozen in this city, but this one stands out above the rest, making it worth a mention and worth a visit for those who are looking for music rarities. The store is really two stores in one. There is the typical used CD section, which is average and a 33" album collection, which is outstanding. Best Smell in All of Chicago |
1532 North Wells Street Chicago, IL 60610 +1 312 943 1777 |
It would be enough if The Fudge Pot offered the kind of chocolate that allows non-chocoholics to understand the concept of chocolate as addiction. It would be enough if The Fudge Pot offered only bars of chocolate rather than the array of food dipped in chocolate which lines the counters. Yet, this tiny Old Town shop goes so far as to offer personalized chocolate not just in an interesting shape, but grand detail. Custom Fudge Pot items range from Stars of David and race cars to the more risqué chocolate items labeled as adults only. While the prices are expensive, a trip to The Fudge Pot is better than a sit down meal, if only just to smell them making the chocolate. -Jordon Corson Review © 2007, Wcities |

These employees get a chance to grow and expand their horizons while learning about the flowers and different scents. If you want to help these employees choose this flower shop to order your favorites. You can also add Mylar balloons to the gifts.
