Now, a stylish art deco tower standing above Michigan Avenue welcomes guests. Once decaying and unpopular with tourists, the hotel has become one of the best and most popular places to stay in the city. While other hotels offer comparable rooms at lower rates, the Allerton offers an historical perspective that the other Michigan Avenue hotels lack. The 443 rooms feature dark accents and decor that looks straight out of an actual bedroom instead of a factory close out sale. Many of the rooms have balconies that offer stunning city views. In downtown Chicago this fine hotel is close to just about everything and a mere ten minutes from the convention center.
