Jutting out right into the middle of Lake Michigan, visitors to this enchanted place will experience a multitude of species of birds that have all called this place their temporary home. Most of the birds are migrating to warmer climates, so this is perfect for the avid birdwatcher looking for less-than-common sightings. Originally, it used to be an Army missile base that used honeysuckle and other plants and berries to cover up its location. Today, this 15-acre stretch of land has turned into a nationally recognized birdwatching area full of sparrows, thrushes, doves, and blackbirds. Review © 2009, Wcities |
