Post the Pizza Please! |
Oakbrook Center Oakbrook Chicago, IL United States +1 630 586 9200 |
Your growling stomach will fully approve of your choice of venue and menu once you have parked yourself at one of Antico Posto's tables. The homemade ravioli, pastas and tender, succulent meat are worth the money crunch. Thin crust pizzas were never out of fashion, but Posto's makes a style statement with the pizza presentation! Too bad your stomach can't see it! Review © 2007, Wcities |

The location is downtown Chicago, the food is Italian with American undertones. So that explains the extra large portions of salads and delicious desserts. No opposition in that department, as long as the tiramisu is served large and extra! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fine dining that's fun |
1954 West North Avenue Chicago, IL 60622 United States +1 773 278 4488 |
If a night of romance is on the docket or you are looking to make inroads with a new flame, consider this Wicker Park favorite. Once you circle the building and enter from the alley, the low lit dining room and candlelit tables are perfect for intimate conversations. But the open kitchen and sleek decor help keep the atmosphere trendy and on the funky side. The menu is Mediterranean -influenced contemporary American and features such treats as Sauteed Duck Breast (USD18.50), Grilled Chilean Sea Bass (USD19) and beef tenderloin (USD20), along with numerous appetizers, salads and desserts. It's okay to be a simply dressed lass/lad here, thanks to the casual ambience. You can expect the expected with mozarella cheese or the unexpected turkey with melted brie cheese. 612 North Wells Street Chicago, IL 60610 United States +1 312 280 9200 http://www.ribs.com/ info@ribs.com |
It is time to put aside your table manners. When you eat at Carson's Ribs, you will need to wear a bib and lick your fingers. Famous for buckets of baby-back ribs smothered in barbecue sauce and succulent prime-cut steaks, this chophouse is one of the best—and definitely the messiest&mdsh;in town. If you would rather not be seen in public with barbecue sauce dripping from your fingers, carry-out is available. Or try the giant pork chops, for which you will need a fork - or a forklift. The best Italian restaurant in the city |
300 West Hubbard Street Chicago, IL 60610 United States +1 312 836 0900 http://www.cocopazzochicago.com admin@cocopazzochicago.com |
Many people in town, food critics and laymen alike, rank this as the best Italian restaurant in the city. Chef Tony Priolo has created a wonderful menu, mixing a variety of styles and flavors. Delicious appetizers include buffalo mozzarella with red peppers and cinghiale con polenta (wild boar stewed in red wine served over polenta for $8.50). The entree selection runs the gamut. Try the Quill Pasta with Butternut Squash or the Sella Di Cervo Con Salsa Di Barolo (pepper crusted saddle of venison with barolo sauce, farro and winter squash for $29). Choose from over 150 wines. Make your reservation well in advance and dress up. For a more casual (and less expensive) version of the same food, try the restaurant's nearby café. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Jose Cuervo on the rocks, Chiles Rellenos (stuffed peppers), Fajitas and Tamales are just some of the items on the menu. This taqueria offers a great variety of uniquely made Duck Tacos, Shrimp Fajitas and delectable Tamales. Listen to the Mariachi music and enjoy some of the yummiest food in town. Make sure to keep room for dessert, because you certainly don't want to miss the lip smacking Flan with ripe berries. You can also host private parties in their party room. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Recipient of the 'Best Chinese Restaurant' award in Chicago, this place serves up some extraordinary concoction of sauces and unique dishes with immaculate presentation. Before dinner, don't forget to order one of their exclusive margaritas. A few of the chef's recommendations are Happy Family (a unification of prawns, scallops, beef, chicken, pork, crab meat and Chinese vegetables in a brown sauce) or Dragonfly and Phoenix (broiled whole Maine lobster with Honeymoon Chicken). Terrific breakfast and lunch joint |
565 West Jackson Boulevard Chicago, IL 60661 United States +1 312 939 3111 |
This place is the real deal. It has barely changed since it opened in 1935. Come in to this friendly diner and be prepared to stuff yourself with omelets and pancakes. It is not a place for the granola-loving crowd, unless you consider blending an entire orange to make your juice healthy. Mornings are very busy, but any wait is worth it. For the price, this is one of the best breakfast and lunch joints in town. Do not forget your free donut hole on the way in, and you might even want to buy a few for the road. Also, check out Lou Mitchell's Express, at O'Hare's International Terminal. Review © 2007, Wcities |

525 West Arlington Place (In the heart of Lincoln Park) Chicago, IL 60614 United States +1 773 528 1200 http://www.salvatores-chicago.com salvatoreschicago@rcn.com |
Salvatore's offers an opulent setting for both intimate dinners and large parties. The dining room, with its dark woods, traditional Tuscan colors and judicious use of foliage, transforms you from the busy Chicago streets to the rolling hills of northern Italy. Of course, ambiance aside, this place prides itself on its food. The tempting menu and reasonable prices make it a favorite with locals. Choices run the gamut and include traditional takes on antipasti, including Bruschetta and Carpaccio, and pastas. The main courses offer creative diversions with veal, chicken, salmon and aged steak.
