Books, music and stationery |
University Drive Ilam Christchurch New Zealand +64 (0)3 348 8579 |
While the University Bookshop is the main provider of textbooks for Canterbury University courses, it is by no means a shop exclusively for students. Besides supplying heavy-duty "brain" books, it also has extensive stock in magazines, paperback fiction, CDs, stationery, cards, games and novelty gifts. This is the place to go for hard-to-find and obscure books--if the Bookshop does not have it, they will order it for you. They also buy and sell second hand textbooks. There is another University Bookshop outlet at the Christchurch Public Hospital in central city. Review © 2007, Wcities |

New Zealand budget chain store |
South City Mall City Central Christchurch 8001 New Zealand +64 3 366 6013 |
The budget-goods chain, The Warehouse, is regarded in New Zealand with a certain affection, somehow it manages to provide people with items they need, before they realise they need them. Stacked high in rows throughout this cavernous store you will find a mind-boggling range of New Zealand-made and imported goods. There are toys, home wares, grocery items, garden equipment, furniture, through to compact discs, computer software and cellular phones. The quality can be surprisingly good for the price. Other Christchurch branches are at Barrington, Bush Inn, Hornby, Linwood, and Papanui. Review © 2007, Wcities |
