Opened as a co-operative of likeminded people back in 1979, this place has an old-fashioned corner store atmosphere. Piko Cooperative runs as a low profit charitable organisation focusing on community issues and environmental protection. It is committed to wholefoods rather than supplements and sells primarily organic and guaranteed genetically unmodified foods. It is a great place to shop for price and health reasons. They sell whole grains and foods from open bins and regulars bring in their own containers to refill. For those suffering from food allergies, they have a great supply of gluten free, dairy free, and sugar free products.
