Golden Mile Driving Range

Golfing fun outside the city
Trents Road
Templeton
Christchurch 8004
New Zealand
+64 (0)3 349 3886
This business provides a different approach to practising your golf. Located at the edge of Christchurch's green belt, the driving range is itself a place of retreat as a golfing fine tuner. The range is a twenty-minute drive from the city and is symbolic for its rural setting. However what is gained in tranquillity is not lost in the professionalism of the services provided. A golf pro is available for lessons and tips and a large pro shop has all the latest in golfing equipment. Car parking is not a problem and bays are readily available.

Hornby Mall

Plenty of shopping out west
418 Main South Road
Hornby
Christchurch 8004
New Zealand
+64 (0)3 349 7288
http://www.hornbymall.co.nz
The recently redeveloped Hornby Mall, a medium-sized suburban shopping complex in the western suburbs of Christchurch, is home to 40 specialty shops. Of these the major tenants are New World Supermarket, The Warehouse, Briscoes and Deka. During the school holidays there is usually plenty of entertainment for the kids, with regular children's stage acts and promotions. Otherwise you can take the family to the three-cinema complex upstairs. Parking is a tad chaotic, so be wary if you are unfamiliar with the surrounds.

Russley Golf Club

First class golfing treat
428 Memorial Ave
Christchurch 8004
New Zealand
+64 (0)3 358 4748
http://www.russleygolfclub.co.nz
This international-class course is one of the most exclusive golf courses in Canterbury and New Zealand. It has been the only golf course in the South Island to host The New Zealand Golf Open. In 1994, Russley completed a major upgrade on its club premises. Today the clubhouse is a landmark in itself and includes conference facilities, function rooms and fully licensed bars and restaurants. The superbly manicured course is constantly fine-tuned to better the golfing experience. Whilst adult prices are expensive, Russley prices itself well in reach for junior golfers so they too can test themselves on a first class golf course. Check website for further details.
