City 2 is a large commercial shopping centre in the suburb of Taastrup. People come from far to shop here, and it is easy to find your way around. Amongst many other things, it includes fashion shops, a post office, cinema, bicycle shop, fitness centre, pet shop, record shop and game hall. This is the first real shopping mall in the centre of Copenhagen. The name refers to the original use of the premises as the main Copenhagen fish market. The new shopping centre is an interesting experience. Not only will you get to choose from more than 100 good shops, fifteen tempting restaurants and a huge cinema complex, but you will also see a beautiful piece of Danish architecture. Frederiksberg Centret is a large shopping centre in the part of town northwest of Søerne (the Lakes). It was built only recently and is quite an impressive piece of architecture. An enormous amount of glass has been used in the structure of this building, bringing light and an impression of space. The shopping centre consists of a multitude of shops on two floors, in different sizes and genres: fashion, food, books... practically everything you can think of. There are also cafés and restaurants. Furthermore, Frederiksberg Centret contains a fruit and vegetable market. The prices are about average but of course vary from shop to shop. Illum is a large shopping centre on Copenhagen's most popular shopping street, Strøget. Illum contains 56 stores, distributed over five floors. Here you will find almost anything you can think of. Illum is built around an inner yard containing specialist stores. After shopping you could enjoy a drink or a meal at the cafe or restaurant on the top floor. From there you will be looking over the rooftops of the beautiful centre of Copenhagen. This large shopping centre in the suburban town of Lyngby was the first of its kind in Denmark. The centre consists of a lot of shops grouped along an almost labyrinthine system of shopping alleys. The shops come in all kinds. Especially the fashion shops are frequently full of good offers of various kinds. The good parking facilities can be used free of charge. Magasin du Nord is probably the best-known department store in the whole of Denmark. It has a long tradition and occupies an enormous building at Kongens Nytorv. The building was recently restored and is now as splendid as ever. Shoppers will find almost everything they could desire including a huge choice of menswear and ladieswear spread out over three floors. Shopping In The Heart Of Copenhagen |

Rådhusarkaden is, as the name indicates, a shopping arcade near Rådhuspladsen (the Town Hall Square), in Copenhagen city. You will probably run into it or pass by it when you stroll from Hovedbanegården (the Central Station) along Østergade to Rådhuspladsen or Strøget. It contains shops of all different kinds: a supermarket, fashion shops, patisserie, cinema, music shop, and so on. Most of the shops can be reached both through Østergade and through the arcade, which runs indoors, parallel to Østergade.
