Since 1956, the Cork Film Festival has attempted to "bring to Irish audiences the best in world cinema in all its variety; championing the art of the short film through its competitive section and providing a forum for experimental film." As a result, the Festival has grown very considerably in reputation over the years. Each year there's a "shorts" competition prize, usually one of the largest in Europe. Screenings take place at Cork Opera House, Kino Cinema, Gate Cinema and Triskel Arts Centre. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Since its establishment in 1954, this festival has become a major competitive platform. Each year it brings together some of the finest choirs to perform in Cork's City Hall, one of the most attractive venues in Ireland. In addition, it's a meeting place for choirs from different countries and backgrounds, a place where past experiences are shared and new insights gained. The festival's prestigious Fleischmann International Trophy Competition ranks highly amongst the top choral competitions in Europe and consistently attracts choirs of international repute.
