Co-owner Tye Phelps chose a name for this restaurant that would seize the moment and give an all-Texas flair to the menu. True to Texas, almost everything is fried. Upscale Texas style decorations abound at Love & War. The foods range from traditional Texas to very exotic. The wine list consists of all-Texas wines plus a full bar. Try the delicious half-inch-thick chicken-fried Steak, fried craw fish, cheese-stuffed Jalapeños or hand-battered onion rings for a great culinary experience. Fiery chile poppers and succulent fried oysters are wonderful appetizers. Among some of the more exotic dishes are swordfish, roasted wild boar, grilled venison or grilled quail.
