Contemporary plays and musicals |
9900 East Colfax Avenue Denver, CO 80010 United States +1 303 739 1970 www.aurorafox.org |
Located along a dilapidated portion of East Colfax Avenue that is surrounded by pawnshops, the Aurora Fox is a shining neighborhood jewel. A converted movie house, the 250-seat theater now serves as a stage for contemporary plays and lighthearted musicals. The main groups associated with the Fox are the Aurora Theatre Company, the Aurora Singers, and the Aurora Symphony. Most performances occur on the weekends and the Sunday matinees are very popular. During summer, the theater provides children's programs performed by the kids themselves. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Located just off Larimer Square, the Comedy Works is everything you might expect from a comedy club - tight seating space and a two-drink minimum. The club, which is rated as one of the top four comedy clubs in the country, consistently hosts some of the best names in comedy, including Dave Attell, Bobcat Goldthwait and Arsenio Hall. A separate downstairs bar area offers a great place to wait during nights with multiple shows. Reservations are kept up to 30 minutes before show time. Prices vary depending on the show. Be advised that all shows at Comedy Works are non-smoking. See their website for a list of upcoming events. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The 2,800-seat elegant theater spectacle anchors the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and hosts grand scale touring Broadway musicals, along with other special events ranging from major dance productions to musical concerts. An extravagant multi-level lobby greets theatergoers with drinking and dining opportunities, and makes for the perfect lounging area between acts. The mammoth interior has a modern texture with comfortable seating, and lavender neon lighting strips illuminating the walls. This is definitely the place to find the tux and sequenced dress crowd.
