Major League Baseball's announcement of National League expansion came in 1985. Colorado then began a long and patient campaign, and in July of 1991 Denver managed to snag one of the two expansion franchises. Thus, the Colorado Rockies were born. The team played its first regular season in 1993 at Mile High Stadium. Two years later the Rockies set a record by being the first expansion team ever to reach post-season play prior to their ninth year of play. April to October Games are great family outings, especially in Coors Field. Tickets are readily available.

These big floating-monuments of luxury help winter-weary crowds to daydream of sultry summer afternoons cruising along at half throttle on some big Colorado pond. Other popular attractions include rubber rafts, kayaks, and other river gear and accessories.

Denver, CO 80202
United States
+1 303 820 1338

This muscle-stretching ride is a popular annual event during the third week of June. During the seven days of the ride, bicyclists pedal more than 400 miles of mountainous terrain, surmounting breathtaking passes (literally) and zooming down "only-in-Colorado" steeps. During the evening the bicyclists camp along the route in big fields or in small town gymnasiums. Due to its popularity The Denver Post holds a lottery for those who want to take the ride. You have to be one of the lucky winners to participate.
