Charlie Brown's is one of Denver's most diverse establishments. The bar has been a sanctuary for the Capitol Hill area for more than 35 years. Paul "Paulie" Lopez pounds out tunes on the piano, making it one of the only places in the city where young urban hipsters nestle up to the Sinatra crowd, sharing beer and bourbon over song. This is quite possibly the largest menu in the city. It covers everything: Greek, American, Mexican, Italian and more. Located in a turn of the century stone church, this place is Denver's hottest nightspot and trendiest disco. The crowded main dance floor resides where pews once rested and a high tech lighting system flickers among awe-inspiring stained glass windows. Eventually, a local promoting company bought the aging structure, and after an extensive renovation, it reopened as the Fillmore Auditorium. From the outside, this hulk of a building makes you feel as if you are a United Auto Worker reporting to work at the Ford plant—it is huge. Inside, this brewery offers a little of everything. Walls are adorned with 14 TVs, including a giant screen, and there are two pool tables as well. The brewery offers 20 beers on tap, including many of its own homemade varieties.
