Denver's best kept secret |
1446 South Broadway Denver, CO 80210 United States +1 303 282 1446 http://www.cafecero.net/ |
The usual reaction of anyone walking into this funky little cafe for the first time is "wow, I cannot believe I never heard about this place." Located in the unlikely area of Denver's Antique Row, Cafe Cero's interior of chandeliers, stained glass windows and adobe walls is unmatched. The Blue Room, in the balcony area, with sofas, antique end tables and muted candles is perfect for exchanging coy glances over wine and candlelight. The menu, which is small, features a variety of sandwiches. Facilities provided here include live entertainment, catering service, and banquet. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Dance club for everybody |
4040 East Evans Cross Street Colorado Boulevard Denver, CO 80222 United States +1 303 758 6853 |
Long before swanky nightclubs infiltrated the trendy LoDo and Capitol Hill neighborhoods, the Dead Beat Club was one of the few places in town to get a groove on. With a lifeline stretching back to the late 1980's, the club has managed to endure numerous musical fads, and continues to draw a diverse, down-to-earth crowd. A maze of rooms occupies three floors and offers three dance floors. The music spans the 70's, 80's, and 90's, and encompasses techno, pop, house and trance. Thursday's Ladies Night is the busiest night of the week. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Working class pub |
1135 East Evans Avenue (at Downing) Denver, CO 80210 United States +1 303 778 6426 |
This popular pub does not possess a manufactured charm or upscale designer interior to draw in the crowds like many of the other downtown bars. Instead, Fagan's is a nice gathering place with a lived-in, rustic look that takes good care of its regulars and offers a friendly atmosphere for conversation and, of course, drinking. The menu is an interesting mix of Mexican food and traditional English fare. Try the chicken burrito or the tasty Shepherd's Pie. The full bar is stocked with Irish and English beers. Where the local bands play |
1578 South Broadway Denver, CO 80210 United States +1 303 777 5840 http://www.hermanshideaway.com |
Herman's Hideaway is reputed to be one of the best places to see live music in Denver. The club could easily pass for a biker bar and takes pride in its scruffy look. The inside is dark and smoky and bars line both sides of the room. The hottest local bands rock the club during the week and occasionally you will see a national act take the stage. Among some of the accomplished artists who played here in the past are the Dave Matthews Band, and the homegrown jam group Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Cover charge starts from USD4. Upscale sports bar |
4100 East Mexico Avenue Denver, CO 80222 United States +1 303 300 6666 http://www.thelazydog.com |
This is one of the few sports bars that does not bang you over the head with sports memorabilia. Sure, you will find a nice collection of signed jerseys and autographed pictures, but they are not plastered over every nook and cranny. The wide-open dining room boasts two 10-foot televisions, while 26 other TVs are strategically positioned around the restaurant. Besides the usual bar food offerings it also serves steaks, specialty sandwiches such as the Boulder on the Coast (yellowfin tuna stuffed between focaccia bread), pasta and pizza. Bar and kitchen |
1477 South Pearl Street Denver, CO 80210 United States +1 303 778 6475 http://www.pearlstreetgrillden... |
The Pearl Street Grill is legendary in the area for having great food and a great bar atmosphere. There is enough space between the bar and dining areas so one can exchange coy glances over quiet conversation with a spouse without worrying about an elbow in the spleen by a Happy Hour holdover. The back deck is unmatched in Denver for its atmosphere. In addition to the standard Mexican and burger fare, the menu also offers pork chops and a salmon filet. The beer menu is huge.
