Upscale lounge |
1600 17th St (in the Oxford Hotel) Denver, CO 80202 United States +1 303 628 5405 |
Located in the historic Oxford Hotel, this stylish haunt, that resembles a lounge on the Titanic, is the perfect spot to brood over a martini and conjure the literary ghosts of Denver's Beat scene— Neil Cassady once sipped gin and tonic in this art deco room. Nowadays the scotch and soda crowd fill the barstools and couples soak in the romantic ambiance tucked away in a comfortable booth. Regulars frequently mix with out-of-towners assuring an always-colorful conversation. Review © 2007, Wcities |

If You Knew Sushi |
1620, Market Street Denver, CO 80202 United States +1 303 595 9500 http://www.sonodassushi.com/ |
With four locations in Denver, you'll never be very far from a Sonada's Sushi, should the craving erupt. Obviously, the fact that there are four of them says something about Sonada's popularity. From the very extensive sushi bar to the creations of the master sushi chefs, Sonada's is classic Japanese all the way. Hot seafood and vegetarian items are also offered, and regulars at Sonata's Sushi appreciate the Happy Hour specials: discounts on meals and 2 for 1 specials on wine, saki, and beer. Go and enjoy some food in the raw – the seafood, that is. -Theresa Ludwick Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cigars and Scotch |
1730 Wynkoop Street Denver, CO 80202 United States +1 303 293 2887 |
This comfortable, dark bar filled with couches, booths and leather chairs offers an expansive selection of wine by the glass (60 choices) as well as hard-to-find scotches and liquors. The cigar room in the back has the atmosphere of an old English hunt club, except that a ventilator kindly sucks out the smoke (for your health). Cigars run from $6 and up, and a limited pub menu is also available. Live music fills the air five nights a week. Review © 2007, Wcities |
