You are not only encouraged to eat with your hands at this Ethiopian restaurant, but it is mandatory. Each guest orders from a selection of spicy lamb, beef, shrimp, chicken or veggies, and it comes on a platter lined with a spongy flatbread called injera. The food is flavorful and tends to be on the spicy side. A varied beer selection, including some African brands, will help cool down your mouth. Do not pass up the authentic Ethiopian coffee to close the meal.

These spicy dishes blend meats such as chicken, beef, or lamb with hot chilies and spices to create a mouth-tingling treat.

And if you do not think chicken and sugar go together, you will think again when you try the B'stella: a pastry that combines chicken, almonds, cinnamon and sugar in a crunchy wrap of phyllo dough. Be sure to order tea after the meal just from the pure "how-do-they-do-that" standpoint of watching the waiters pour into the cups from several feet up without spilling. Nightly belly dancers add to the authentic atmosphere.

The family owned establishment has mom (Cathy Upchurch) in the kitchen creating new spins on breakfast and lunch classics. Breakfast selections range from the healthy to the decadent, including the Double Rock Slide, which features bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes and hash browns. The lunch menu offers a variety of sandwiches.
