Perfect crispy crust |
123 N. Main Street Pueblo Denver, CO 81003 United States +1 719 253 7700 / +1 719 406 4341 http://www.angelos-pizza.com/ |
Serving the Capitol Hill neighborhood for over 25 years, the Lavero family has learned the imitative secret of making good crispy dough to hold perfect blends of cheeses and toppings. The unassuming white brick façade carries an aged look, and the dark and worn dining area covers two quiet, comfortable rooms. Besides pizza the kitchen also offers an assortment of Italian standards, including calzones and an array of pasta dishes. The Tiramisu is a great way to close out the meal. Wine and beer are also available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Small, but outstanding |
603 East Sixth Avenue Denver, CO 80203 United States +1 720 377 3662 http://www.emmasrestaurant.com |
This is one of those rare restaurants that conveys the feeling that the owners are in it not for the money but because they genuinely enjoy serving food. Although its Victorian home location practically juts out on to busy Sixth Avenue, the interior has a wonderfully calm and quaint feel that removes you from the city. The "all-food-groups-are-covered" menu has a gourmet lean and includes Pan Roasted Rabbit ($25), Grilled Coullote Steak ($24) and Roasted Lamb Sirloin ($26). The wine list is superb. Stylish pizza |

Do not let Enzo's End "down-and-out on Colfax" look fool you, this place serves up some of the best pizza in Denver. The traditional Neapolitan thin crust delights come with an east coast edge, and the specialty pies are creative concoctions packed with odd toppings that somehow click. Pizzas come piled with an array of homemade sauces and fresh toppings on thin crust that magically holds it all together. Calzones and salads are also available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Finger-licking good |
2816 East Colfax Avenue Denver, CO 80206 United States +1 303 322 5939 |
The Ethiopian Restaurant on Colfax is a finger-licking overeater's dream. Relax in pink-walled comfort, sipping Ethiopian honey wine while waiting for your food. And you will wait. But kick back and relax, because this small, homey place is going to put on a feast. Specialties include berbere paste flavored stews, called Wots, which will get your blood pumping. These spicy dishes blend meats such as chicken, beef, or lamb with hot chilies and spices to create a mouth-tingling treat. Review © 2007, Wcities |

True to its name, Goodfriend's has remained a popular neighborhood meeting place for more than a decade. The charming, homely ambiance and kid-friendly staff make this a great family destination for lunch or dinner. The menu offers an eclectic mix ranging from Mexican fare to burgers to salads. The Sloppy Chicken Burrito, piled high with sour cream and guacamole, is definitely a highlight. The margaritas are widely considered to be the best in town. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Predictably delicious |
330 East Sixth Avenue Denver, CO 80203 United States +1 303 871 9777 |
This popular spot just south of downtown serves Indian food minus the infamous Indian music. The dinner menu is the size of a small novel and includes all the popular favorites from numerous tandoori breads and entrees to biryanis, vindaloos and curries. Giant slabs of Naan are also available and all dishes are accompanied with rice. If you like variety, do not miss the sprawl of a lunch buffet. A wine list and several Indian beer selections complement the menu. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Friendly, fun food |
550 Grant Street (at Sixth Avenue) Denver, CO 80203-4426 United States +1 303 733 7331 |
Moe's Broadway bagel offers multiple locations throughout Denver, but this Capitol Hill spot is one of the more popular, especially on weekend mornings. Live music occasionally fills the shop, and always be on the look out for customer giveaways. Numerous bagels, such as cranberry nut, pumpkin, spinach, sesame and pumpernickel fill the shelves. Sandwiches are made to order, and homemade ice cream makes for a tasty dessert. The "Moe's Zone", a fluffy egg in a bagel, is a popular menu item. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Our gyro |
2817 East Colfax Avenue Denver, CO 80206 United States +1 303 321 9658 http://www.petesrestaurantstoo... |
A popular spot with the Capitol Hill crowd, Pete's prepares a mean gyro. The Greek wraps come stuffed with goodies on thick pita bread dripping with a tasty cream sauce. If that does not tempt you, the kitchen creates an assortment of hearty sandwiches and breakfast dishes, all in a homey diner setting with views of the interesting, and sometimes weird, happenings on Colfax Avenue. The only drawback to Pete's is that the desserts rarely live up to expectations. The atmosphere here is casual and friendly and kids are always welcome. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hot, hot, hot |
550 Grant Street Denver, CO 80203 United States +1 303 765 5878 http://www.qdoba.com/ |
Qdoba is not the place to go if you are in search of a relaxed meal and quiet conversation. Too many people know about the grill's fabulous burritos to make the lines anything but lengthy, and the stark surroundings can be an acoustical nightmare. Five locations are scattered about the city. The Poblano Pesto burrito - a massive wrap of grilled chicken smothered with poblano chile pesto, is the king of the 14-item menu. Beware of the extra hot salsa. It is not just a name; these habanero chillies screamed when they were picked and have been looking for revenge ever since! Review © 2007, Wcities |
