From the outside this restaurant looks common and without promise. But as soon as you step inside you are walloped with a beautiful tan and black interior that has a contemporary and sophisticated look. The menu offers an interesting array of creative concoctions like honeydew milkshakes, cheese and egg sandwiches and milk with raw egg to drink. The entrees, however, are true and tried. Ox-tongue with burgundy sauce, Seafood Chow Mein and Chinese sausage are just some of the restaurant's signature items.

Located in LoDo, Lim's is a trendy lunch spot for the business crowd and a popular starting point for the weekend suburban clubbers. The place separates itself from other Chinese restaurants that serve the standard fare by offering a variety of Mongolian food. The sizzling Mongolian barbecue is a pleasant change of pace, although you can still order Kung Pao, chow mein, and beef with broccoli if you feel more comfortable with the old favorites. Vegetarians can substitute hot tofu for meat, or choose from wide selection of veggie items.

Palace Chinese Restaurant

Beyond strip mall Chinese
6265 East Evans Avenue
Denver, CO 80222
United States
+1 303 782 0300
Johnny Hsu, owner of the wildly popular Imperial, opened this upscale restaurant in an Asian-influenced strip mall to bring the east side of town a taste of his terrific Chinese cuisine. Although the place has not quite lived up to its reputation, it is still one of the better spots to order Chinese. Try a taste of the duck smoked in tea or the signature Sesame Chicken. Egg rolls, dumplings, and soup complement the entrees. A wide selection of pork, chicken, and beef dishes rounds out the menu. The spicy seafood dishes are highly recommended.

Serving authentic Szechuan and Mandarin cuisine, Red Coral is a popular spot for lunch (especially on the weekends) or dinner. The dining room is open and the staff is friendly. Lunch is particularly inexpensive. For a tasty change, try the spicy Jumbone Soup. It has a nice bite, and with all those noodles is almost a meal in itself. The menu offers more ways to do chicken than you would think possible. The standbys can be ordered without fear—most are good in an almost nostalgic kind of way.

This restaurant serves nothing but varying combinations of noodle soups all made by Richard Lee. The most notable feature is that all the tables sport bright green tablecloths, creating the weird visual of being in a room full of lily pads. All the servings come in bowls the size of small wading pools. The Barbecued pork and the Roast duck are popular choices. Or for those who like to get the heady sense of tasting combustion try one of the five spice soups.
