Bump and Grind

The '70s are back!
439 East 17th Avenue
Denver, CO 80203
United States
+1 303 861 4841
What started out as a coffeehouse/workout studio has been transformed into a hipster hangout serving decadent desserts and healthy lunches. Located in uptown, this groovy place sports a retro look with sky blue hardwood floors, a clutter of tables and bright orange polyester sofa seats. The Roasted Veggie Pie is a cosmic delight. Elaine's Big Salad will satisfy leaf lovers with a hearty appetite. For dessert, do not miss the delicious Carmel Knowledge Bars. Its Saturday brunches tower as legendary.

Coffee Nut

Espresso and books
1028 South Gaylord Street
Denver, CO 80209
United States
+1 303 777 1251
This elongated rectangle of a shop is the business world's version of a split personality. In the front half, where it sells magazines and a small selection of old and new books, the room has a bohemian feel to it with exposed brick and old chairs. The back half kitchen area, however, which sells everything from milkshakes to smoothies and espressos, is new and contemporary and even has a TV. Thursday night blues and folk jams draw big crowds so arrive early.

What began as a small, neighborhood corner ice cream parlor has evolved into a full-fledged deli. Started by a couple of Brooklyn transplants looking for the flavors of home, this deli comes with a heavy dose of New York flavor and a bit of New York attitude. Start with the Brooklyn Breakfast Sandwich, piled with cheese, eggs and a choice of meat. The deli also has 31 sandwiches, including meatloaf, and in true New York fashion sells Sabrett Hot Dogs. There are also an array of desserts, and a full selection of coffee and espresso drinks.

Market

Gourmet deli and coffee
1445 Larimer Street
Denver, CO 80202
United States
+1 303 534 5140
Amidst all the tony restaurants and pulsing dance rooms on Larimer Street this gourmet deli lends a nice change of pace. Plank floors, wooden shelves filled with tea and coffee, and old-counters give it a look and feel more suited to the 1940s, but in a mysteriously hip way. The outdoor sidewalk tables are perfect perches for people watching. Pastry, bagels and breakfast burritos are popular morning choices. The lunch and dinner menu offers a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, and fresh deli salads.

The Meaning of Coffeehouse
2019 E 17th Avenue
Denver, CO 80206

This local hangout brings together all the essentials of a neighborhood coffeehouse. Art on the walls, interesting conversation and a great cappuccino make St. Mark's one of Denver's cultural hubs. There's always someone enjoying the patio and on nice days they slide open the garage door bringing in the fresh air and bringing together this coffeehouse and the neighborhood. Try one of their great paninis or sample from their wide selection of drinks from tea to beer. If you're looking for more, ask who's playing downstairs – there's a basement venue for local music.

Stella's Coffee House

Eclectic and large
1476 South Pearl Street
Denver, CO 80210
United States
+1 303 777 1031
There are so many different rooms in this coffee house, rumor has it that food is sold not to be eaten but for leaving a trail of crumbs for orientation purposes. The back rooms, a popular hang out with University of Denver students, features stacked bookshelves and mismatched tables. The huge front deck area is perfect for socializing. In addition to the usual coffee shop menu of hybrid cappuccinos, espressos, and herbal teas, the shop also sells pastries, sandwiches, fruit drinks and even a large variety of bulk coffee beans.

A cozy coffee shop on the main floor, adds to the artsy ambiance. In addition the shop hosts more than 500 author signings and lectures each year.
