Neighborhood tradition |
980 Grant Street Denver, CO 80203-2907 United States +1 303 860 1655 |
Charlie Brown's is one of Denver's most diverse establishments. The bar has been a sanctuary for the Capitol Hill area for more than 35 years. Paul "Paulie" Lopez pounds out tunes on the piano, making it one of the only places in the city where young urban hipsters nestle up to the Sinatra crowd, sharing beer and bourbon over song. This is quite possibly the largest menu in the city. It covers everything: Greek, American, Mexican, Italian and more. The gyros are favorites, and the steak and lobster are the best deals in the city. The expansive patio is a definite hotspot on summer evenings. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Have A Bone To Pick On Mondays |
103, South Ogden Street Denver, CO 80209 United States +1 303 722 0592 |
A T-bone, that is. While Ogden Street South Bar and Grill has diverse offerings on its menu throughout the week, Monday night's T-bone steak special keeps the red meat lovers coming back on a regular basis. The meal is rounded out with soup or salad, your choice of potato, and a dinner roll, though all are merely bit part players on a plate where the succulent, cooked-to-order T-bone holds center stage. Other regional menu item include Mexican, Greek, vegetarian, and good old American. Wash any one of these down with a drink from the decently-priced bar menu, and don't forget to ask for a toothpick. -Theresa Ludwick Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fine Greek cuisine |
300 South Pearl Street (at Alameda) Denver, CO 80209 United States +1 303 778 6675 http://www.petesrestaurants.com |
Pete's is small in space but its interior is refreshingly free from the standard, restaurant chain look. Everything about the menu is traditional. One can start with Spanakopita, puff pastry jammed with spinach and feta cheese, as an appetizer. Then advance to the Lamb Loin Chops, or the Chicken Kebob. Top the meal off with Galactobovriko (baked farina custard with vanilla and cognac) for dessert. Vegetarian entrees are also available. A separate lunch menu is served during weekdays. Our gyro |
2817 East Colfax Avenue Denver, CO 80206 United States +1 303 321 9658 http://www.petesrestaurantstoo... |
A popular spot with the Capitol Hill crowd, Pete's prepares a mean gyro. The Greek wraps come stuffed with goodies on thick pita bread dripping with a tasty cream sauce. If that does not tempt you, the kitchen creates an assortment of hearty sandwiches and breakfast dishes, all in a homey diner setting with views of the interesting, and sometimes weird, happenings on Colfax Avenue. The only drawback to Pete's is that the desserts rarely live up to expectations. The atmosphere here is casual and friendly and kids are always welcome. Review © 2007, Wcities |
