Bombay Clay Oven

Authentic Indian fare
165 Steele Street
Cherry Creek North
Denver, CO 80202-5207
United States

Located in the heart of Cherry Creek, this restaurant is a popular dining stop with shoppers. Indian authenticity is immediately confirmed when you must decide between Indian-style seating with cushions and low tables, or the standard table and chairs. Outdoor dining is available in season. Weekends provide live sitar and other noted forms of Indian music. If you enjoy rich saucy foods you will love the fare here, which includes a variety of lamb, chicken, and veggie dishes, including the tasty Saag Paneer.

Delhi Darbar

Local favorite for Indian eats
1514 Blake St
Denver, CO 80202
United States
+1 303 595 0680
This is a top spot for a terrific lunch buffet at a "can-this-be-true" price (USD5.95). The stately buffet table sports a large variety of classic Indian dishes including curries, Tandoori and authentic Indian bread. Its LoDo location makes it popular with the business crowd for both lunch and dinner. The brass accents add flair to the decor, and private booths make for perfect spots to exchange coy glances over Masala on romantic dates.

Govinda's Vegetarian Buffet

Holistic eating experience
1400 Cherry Street
Denver, CO 80220
United States
+1 303 333 5461
Govinda's Buffet, located in the Hare Krishna's Temple in East Denver, serves up a true holistic dining experience. Lunch and dinner come cafeteria style and only vegan dishes make up the menu which changes daily. The lentil and dal soup are excellent choices as is the vegan lasagna. You will never receive a bill for the food but they ask for a "donation" for the meal service, usually $7 for lunch and $8 for dinner.

India's

Ultimate Indian
3333 South Tamarac Drive
Denver, CO 80231-4362
United States
+1 303 755 4284
The premier Indian restaurant in the metro area, India's offers an elegant and uplifting dining experience from the moment you walk in the door. The casual but elegant atmosphere, attentive wait staff, and an outstanding menu set this restaurant apart. Do not miss the Shrimp Vindaloo if you have a taste for heat. The shrimp are roasted Tandoori-style, then covered with a tomato sauce that burns in an unforgettably pleasurable way. The curry is excellent, as are the Pappadams with sweet or hot chutneys. Try the Indian bread, called naan.

Little India

Predictably delicious
330 East Sixth Avenue
Denver, CO 80203
United States
+1 303 871 9777
This popular spot just south of downtown serves Indian food minus the infamous Indian music. The dinner menu is the size of a small novel and includes all the popular favorites from numerous tandoori breads and entrees to biryanis, vindaloos and curries. Giant slabs of Naan are also available and all dishes are accompanied with rice. If you like variety, do not miss the sprawl of a lunch buffet. A wine list and several Indian beer selections complement the menu.

Mt. Everest

Peak of good taste
1533 Champa Street
Denver, CO 80202
United States
+1 303 620 9306
This downtown shrine to Nepalese cuisine is a trip to another world. Offering a mixture of Nepalese, Tibetan, and Indian flavors, Mt. Everest climbs the peak of good taste. The atmosphere may feel a little odd to some: Krishna and Shiva overlook the dining area and prayer flags adorn the walls. The Nepalese barbecue is a favorite here, as is the Indian Tandoori and the lamb, chicken or vegetable stuffed roti. Desserts are an adventure. Forget your diet and order one or two.
