This popular tourist destination celebrates the historic year Colorado entered statehood in a rustic cowboy atmosphere adorned with aged wood, rusted iron, and slate. Despite the city setting it is definitely one of those "we-do-not-have-this-at-home" type restaurants. Choose from an array of classic dishes from the American West, including mouth-watering mountain bass, buffalo tenderloin and rack of lamb. Stop in for lunch and check out the theme buffet.

A taste of New Orleans sizzling in the heart of downtown, Bayou Bob's specializes in heaping helpings of spicy Cajun and down-home comfort delights. Each one comes with a wide selection of Cajun standards, ranging from Gumbo and Jambalaya to Blackened Catfish and Red Beans and Rice. This rates very high with families.

The Broker Restaurant occupies the old Denver National Bank building and retains many of the original, historic features like the huge, 23-ton circular vault door and some of the original wooden booths. The atmosphere here is historic without being stuffy. The food is worth the price of gold: the steaks are some of the best in Colorado. The menu also includes Rocky Mountain trout, Colorado rack of lamb, Southwest Wellington and seafood pasta. The portions are large and pricey.

It's lucky that cows are not considered religious in all parts of the world, otherwise Brook's Steak house would definitely have a changed menu. Try this place for its fantastic line-up of food choices. The appetizers, soup of the day, salads and the entrees are all exotic ... but the specialty is definitely the Prime Steak and the Colorado Lamb, broiled to the temperature of 1700 degrees. Need something to wash this down with? ... You can choose from 1200 wines from all around the world. Take the suggestion of the staff, they are well-stocked with knowledge about wines and of course, food!

Charlie Brown's Bar and Grill

Neighborhood tradition
980 Grant Street
Denver, CO 80203-2907
United States
+1 303 860 1655
Charlie Brown's is one of Denver's most diverse establishments. The bar has been a sanctuary for the Capitol Hill area for more than 35 years. Paul "Paulie" Lopez pounds out tunes on the piano, making it one of the only places in the city where young urban hipsters nestle up to the Sinatra crowd, sharing beer and bourbon over song. This is quite possibly the largest menu in the city. It covers everything: Greek, American, Mexican, Italian and more. The gyros are favorites, and the steak and lobster are the best deals in the city. The expansive patio is a definite hotspot on summer evenings.

A spectacular wine selection (a three time winner of the Wine spectacular award) and a creative menu that changes every week are two of the main reasons for its popularity. The restaurant also has live jazz on Thursday nights, accompanied with sushi and steak tasting. On Sunday, come by for the Champagne brunch or book yourself and your closet friends into the private wine cellar which has exclusive seating for fourteen people, but then you may miss out on the breathtaking view of the Flatiron mountains! Most steak houses deem branding irons and steer skulls on the wall as the essence of decor. This restaurant, however, breaks away from such steak house campiness and presents a classy, upscale dining experience. The menu offers a variety of pasta dishes and seafood items, but the true specialty is meat. One can order blackened prime rib or opt for a sirloin steak. The dining room mixes a beach hut look, featuring surfboards and tiki lamps, with the sleek sparseness associated with LoDo dining. The combo platters are the best way to mix and match tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Each features a choice between grilled or blackened fish, charbroiled steak, pork or chicken. Rice bowls are also available and come with an assortment of toppings including veggies, fish or chicken. A kid's menu is also available.

Hip setting for steak

This upscale seafood and steakhouse is perfect for a romantic evening or a gathering with friends. The low-lit dining room boasts a forest of dark wood creating an elegant but relaxing ambiance. Crab cakes and lobster quesadillas make for good starters, or opt for the Blue Point oysters on the half shell. Dinner selections include lobster, trout, crab and halibut. Although the steaks are tasty, especially the filet mignon, they by no means compare to the seafood offerings. Finish your meal with a homemade dessert.
