Part of the Five Points Neighborhood Renaissance, the Gemini Tea Emporium is one of the few places in town to sip a cup of tea and listen to spoken word poetry. Friday nights bring out the brooding bards, but every other day brings a quiet atmosphere. An open tearoom, which unites a hodge-podge of rich colors and comfortable chairs and sofas, makes conversation easy. Choosing from the 160 teas is like choosing a vacation destination. The exotic array features leaves from China, Brazil, Japan and India. Scones and desserts are also available.

The outdoor sidewalk tables are perfect perches for people watching. Pastry, bagels and breakfast burritos are popular morning choices. The lunch and dinner menu offers a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, and fresh deli salads.
