Big burrito madness |
1740 East 17th Ave (at Williams) Denver, CO 80218 United States +1 303 393 7545 |
Bocaza, meaning "big mouth," jumped on Denver's burrito bandwagon a few years back and has since moved to the forefront of the bonanza, serving up fresh doses of Mexican fare in dizzying portions. While other burrito factories seek to streamline operations and menus, Bocaza keeps the choices coming, offering a variety of burrito and taco variations along with other inventive creations. The Fajita Burritos are classic, stuffed with tons of meat, veggies, and salsa. The Chicken Teriyaki and Arroz Bowls with the Tortas are also very popular. Review © 2007, Wcities |

What started out as a coffeehouse/workout studio has been transformed into a hipster hangout serving decadent desserts and healthy lunches. Located in uptown, this groovy place sports a retro look with sky blue hardwood floors, a clutter of tables and bright orange polyester sofa seats. The Roasted Veggie Pie is a cosmic delight. Elaine's Big Salad will satisfy leaf lovers with a hearty appetite. For dessert, do not miss the delicious Carmel Knowledge Bars. Its Saturday brunches tower as legendary. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Local favorite for Indian eats |
1514 Blake St Denver, CO 80202 United States +1 303 595 0680 |
This is a top spot for a terrific lunch buffet at a "can-this-be-true" price (USD5.95). The stately buffet table sports a large variety of classic Indian dishes including curries, Tandoori and authentic Indian bread. Its LoDo location makes it popular with the business crowd for both lunch and dinner. The brass accents add flair to the decor, and private booths make for perfect spots to exchange coy glances over Masala on romantic dates. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Holistic eating experience |
1400 Cherry Street Denver, CO 80220 United States +1 303 333 5461 |
Govinda's Buffet, located in the Hare Krishna's Temple in East Denver, serves up a true holistic dining experience. Lunch and dinner come cafeteria style and only vegan dishes make up the menu which changes daily. The lentil and dal soup are excellent choices as is the vegan lasagna. You will never receive a bill for the food but they ask for a "donation" for the meal service, usually $7 for lunch and $8 for dinner. Review © 2007, Wcities |

First rate cuisine |
1890 East Evans Avenue Denver, CO 80210 United States +1 303 777 8828 / +1 303 777 8838 http://www.jerusalemrestaurant... |
The Jerusalem Restaurant rates as one of Denver's best choices for Middle Eastern cuisine, a fact evidenced by long waits for a table. Its menu, however, which offers tasty Pita Rollups stuffed with lamb or chicken, Babaghanouj and Falafel Patties, is well worth the wait. The restaurant tends to be crowded (especially with college kids after the bars close) and smoky but the outdoor patio is unbeatable on warm days. Vegetarian choices abound. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This popular dining alternative offers fabulous Middle Eastern fare with a heavy emphasis on good health. It lends for a good stop when running the Cherry Creek shopping gauntlet. Among the favorite dishes are various mixtures of rice and vegetables, sweet-and-sour tofu, veggie burgers, and a meatless chili that makes even carnivores nod with "this-is-darn" tasty approval. All dishes are crafted from scratch and meet strict kosher standards. Fresh juices offered too. Outdoor seating is available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eccentric selections |

Noodles is not the best sit down restaurant in the Cherry Creek area (although there are quite a few tables and chairs), but it is great for a quick fix. If you show up during the week for lunch, be prepared to wait. It is a popular stop for the business crowd. Macaroni and cheese, and all manner of noodle options and sauces are offered, as are Asian salads and Thai pastas. Be sure to check out the Indonesian, Vietnamese and Mediterranean creations. Beer is available, as is outdoor seating. Other Denver locations: 550 Broadway, +1 303 832 6000; 1460 16th St., 720 904 9590. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Have A Bone To Pick On Mondays |
103, South Ogden Street Denver, CO 80209 United States +1 303 722 0592 |
A T-bone, that is. While Ogden Street South Bar and Grill has diverse offerings on its menu throughout the week, Monday night's T-bone steak special keeps the red meat lovers coming back on a regular basis. The meal is rounded out with soup or salad, your choice of potato, and a dinner roll, though all are merely bit part players on a plate where the succulent, cooked-to-order T-bone holds center stage. Other regional menu item include Mexican, Greek, vegetarian, and good old American. Wash any one of these down with a drink from the decently-priced bar menu, and don't forget to ask for a toothpick. -Theresa Ludwick Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sinbad is a small, homey restaurant with but just seven tables surrounded by walls adorned with pictures of Lebanon. The owner/chef hails from Lebanon and cooks up an authentic blend of Middle Eastern cuisine, with a specialty of Stuffed Zucchini Shrimp. Other delights include a spiced up lamb served on a bed of mixed vegetables. The inexpensive prices make this place one of the best dining values in the area. Review © 2007, Wcities |

If You Knew Sushi |
1620, Market Street Denver, CO 80202 United States +1 303 595 9500 http://www.sonodassushi.com/ |
With four locations in Denver, you'll never be very far from a Sonada's Sushi, should the craving erupt. Obviously, the fact that there are four of them says something about Sonada's popularity. From the very extensive sushi bar to the creations of the master sushi chefs, Sonada's is classic Japanese all the way. Hot seafood and vegetarian items are also offered, and regulars at Sonata's Sushi appreciate the Happy Hour specials: discounts on meals and 2 for 1 specials on wine, saki, and beer. Go and enjoy some food in the raw – the seafood, that is. -Theresa Ludwick Review © 2007, Wcities |

Mimosa Mia |
400, East 20th Avenue Denver, CO 80205 United States +1 303 863 7473 http://www.thedishbistro.com |
A sweet neighborhood eating place is the Dish Bistro in Denver's Uptown district. This place gives new meaning to the word, eclectic, calling the restaurant's varied selections, "comfort food." But don't be fooled by the description. There's much more than mashed potatoes and gravy. In fact, there's neither of those! Instead, you'll find a menu that gravitates unapologetically toward international and a touch of vegetarian cuisine. Saturday and Sunday brunch includes a $5 Bottomless Mimosa (champagne and orange juice), and the Frozen Grand Marnier Creamsicle dessert just might call for a designated driver. Eclectic, indeed. -Theresa Ludwick Review © 2007, Wcities |
