One of the older stores in the Michigan-born worldwide chain of Borders book stores, Borders on Woodward Avenue in downtown Birmingham is housed in a spacious two-story structure providing thousands of book and CD titles plus ample elbow room. Local pianists are often booked to perform on the baby grand on the ground floor, and book signings are common. The CDs in stock can be sampled from numerous listening stations and two outdoor balconies off the second floor cafe allow patrons to enjoy their coffee with a view and smoke, if they choose, at the same time.

+1 248 645 6666 This open-air amphitheatre is an ideal venue to enjoy performances to the fullest! If it rains, be assured that you will be drenched as there is minimum shelter available. Throughout the year, this place witnesses a variety of acts and talents. The experience is unique as the small size of the pavilion leaves room for an enhanced interaction amongst the audiences and the entertainers. For the convenience of the people, Phoenix Plaza also provides a shuttle service to the amphitheatre, priced at 10USD. The box office is open on show days only.

http://www.royaloakmusictheatr... The Royal Oak Theatre's lobby was returned to its original design scheme, which boasts of elaborate stenciling, ornate trim and old-fashioned wall sconces. It has been host to a variety of performers from the fields of music, theatre and comedy acts. The theatre is also used for high-end corporate parties and doubles up as a nightclub. The only thing you won't see here is an actual musical theatre!

http://www.thesomersetcollecti... Michigan's most upscale shopping mall is so impressed with its offerings that it calls itself a "collection," not a mall. Indeed, many shoppers would consider some of these stores works of art. Nordstrom, Ralph Lauren/Polo, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co., Neiman-Marcus and Hudson's are among the top destinations. Even during the busiest shopping days, Somerset has an unusual air of decorum. It's the equivalent of putting New York's Fifth Avenue indoors. Several dining options rise above the typical mall fare, but then, you'd expect that from a place that doesn't consider itself a mall.
