The Monster Union store is merely a cover for what goes on in the back of the shop, a sweatshop of sorts. Run by the evil monster/editor Thaddeus T. Blotch, this is a free tutoring center for kids to come and work on creative writing skills. It is Blotch's intention to make millions by publishing these books as the kids hone their skills. The store in fact, which sells such goodies as "monster drool" and cans of "dank," which Blotch supposedly keeps a can of in his car. Make sure to view the Scream Machine which turns the screams of children into Blotch's favorite drink. The store also sells collections of the children's writings and all proceeds to to benefit 826 Michigan, the nonprofit behind the store created by author Dave Eggers. Review © 2007, Wcities |
