Stroll up beyond Parnell Square to the end of Blessington Street and you will find a little-known oasis of calm. Blessington Basin used to serve the water needs of this part of Dublin but it has recently been transformed into a small artificial lake (with the obligatory ducks and swans, of course), surrounded by pleasant landscaped seating areas. It's a surprisingly tranquil retreat in the often-hectic inner-city. Review © 2009, Wcities |
