A slice of the upper crust |
29 Lower Fitzwilliam Street Dublin +353 1 702 6165 |
In the 1960s, the Electricity Supply Board demolished a whole row of 18th century Georgian houses to build its headquarters. The public was outraged, so in an attempt to quell the protest, the Board transformed No.29 into a showpiece of Georgian life. Visitors can now take a guided tour, recanting stories of the distrustful house-keeper, the master of the house and his pneumatic exercise machine and many more. The nursery holds such treasures as a giant doll's house. Admire some of the genuine artefacts and step back in time! Review © 2009, Wcities |
