A converted church with its original belltower, this superb hostel is to be found in the west end where it overlooks the Dean Village. A funky, cosy atmosphere prevails, despite the building's original purpose. There is a licensed residents' lounge, a pool table and darts board amongst the many entertainments and amenities on offer. In the summer, barbecues are held in the garden and a 24 hour reception welcomes late arrivals. For those seeking an alternative to dormitory sleeping, there are private rooms available. This is an exquisite and discreet Georgian mansion block on a leafy crescent in the heart of the residential west end. From the outside, you'd never guess it was a hotel (no prominent sign to indicate such) and in fact, it's much more like a series of serviced apartments, each differing in decor but alike in their opulence. The large bay window in the reception will give you a taste of the available views - over the Dean Village and the Water of Leith towards the majestic Holy Trinity church and Stockbridge beyond.
