Bonham

West end exclusivity
35 Drumsheugh Gardens
(West End)
Edinburgh EH3 7RN
United Kingdom
+44 131 226 6050
This renovated town house hotel is well known for its comfort and elegant style. Art deco furniture and splashes of colour contrast with the original Victorian architecture, giving the building a dynamic, modern edge. Many rooms contain new work by Scottish artists and rear rooms offer wonderful views across the Firth of Forth. The oak-panelled contemporary surroundings of The Bonham restaurant compliment the beautifully prepared European influenced dishes served. All this quality, allied with state-of-the-art technology in every room, has led to a "coolest hotel" award from Conde Nast Travellers.

This intimate Edwardian boutique hotel is located on a cobbled street near Edinburgh Castle. The relaxed ambience of the individually-designed bedrooms and suites is matched by its beautifully-decorated and peaceful, fire-lit lounges. In the basement the hotel boasts one of Edinburgh's most popular brasserie restaurants, known for its fine Scottish/European fare and attentive service. A Scandinavian inspired wine bar and conservatory offers a more contemporary setting in which to unwind.

Edinburgh Residence

Five-star luxury suites in the west end
7 Rothesay Terrace
Edinburgh EH3 7RY
United Kingdom
+44 131 226 3380
This is an exquisite and discreet Georgian mansion block on a leafy crescent in the heart of the residential west end. From the outside, you'd never guess it was a hotel (no prominent sign to indicate such) and in fact, it's much more like a series of serviced apartments, each differing in decor but alike in their opulence. The large bay window in the reception will give you a taste of the available views - over the Dean Village and the Water of Leith towards the majestic Holy Trinity church and Stockbridge beyond.

Melvin House Hotel

Warm Victorian ambience

This glamorous and historic Victorian establishment in the quiet West End has retained most of the original interior decor including ornate wooden panelling and marble fireplaces. It was built in 1883 for John Ritchie Findlay, founder of The Scotsman newspaper and has been recently refurbished. The elegant galleried library doubles as one of the four auspicious conference rooms. The grand dining room commands a fine view over the Dean Village. An intimate and comfortable bar has fine Chesterfield sofas to sink into. Each comfortable en suite bedroom faces either the rolling landscape of Fife or the splendour of Edinburgh Castle.

Wonderfully located in the charming Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, this Georgian guest house offers spacious bright rooms, good vegetarian breakfasts and dining in the conservatory. The back gardens are also guest friendly and if that isn't enough fresh air, you can hop on to the pedestrian trails along the Water of Leith or head off to the nearby Royal Botanic Garden. This place provides a real village feel in the midst of the city.
