Conveniently located next to Haymarket Station and just around the corner from the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, this ultra-modern hotel is perfect for the corporate traveller. The Apex offers a host of amenities, from business facilities to the brasserie-style restaurant Tabu, which serves contemporary Scottish cuisine. The rooms are sparsely decorated in utilitarian style and pleasantly softened by elegant wall lighting. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Converted church |
06/08/07 Douglas Gardens Edinburgh EH4 3DA United Kingdom +44 131 225 6209 http://www.hoppo.com/ |
A converted church with its original belltower, this superb hostel is to be found in the west end where it overlooks the Dean Village. A funky, cosy atmosphere prevails, despite the building's original purpose. There is a licensed residents' lounge, a pool table and darts board amongst the many entertainments and amenities on offer. In the summer, barbecues are held in the garden and a 24 hour reception welcomes late arrivals. For those seeking an alternative to dormitory sleeping, there are private rooms available. Overall, this is a well-maintained and certainly unique place to stay. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Globetrotter Inn Edinburgh |
46 Marine Drive City of Edinburgh EH4 5EP United Kingdom +44 131 336 1030 http://www.globetrotterinns.com/ |
This inn is located on the scenic south side of the Firth of Forth. Neat and effortless interiors with a balmy feel relax you completely. In recent times, almost all backpackers have been on the Globetrotter's trail once they land in Edinburgh. Internet access is available, and so is a good bar to down that old ale in the evenings. Bunk and berth rooms are on offer, starting at £15 per person per night in a bunk room for 6 to 8 guests. Very affordable, eh! And yes, you are greeted with a free drink when you check in!
