A laugh a minute |
99 West Bow Edinburgh EH1 2JP United Kingdom +44 131 220 5252 |
Dress up as a cowboy, strut around in a ginger afro and play tricks on your teacher - this place has all the gags and don't worry parents, it's all quite cheap too! This is just the place for the smallest comedian in your family to stock up on whoopee cushions and fake spiders to terrify your relatives with. Don't blame us though if the next cup of tea you have has a plastic maggot nestling in the bottom of it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Toys for tots |

If you're after children's learning equipment, this is the shop to visit. They stock a great range of educational toys, fun games, crayons, pens and paints to keep them happy for at least the first ten years of their lives. This is the ideal place to help you wean that toddler off a burgeoning toy gun fad. Colorful and spaciously laid out, it's also one of the few great stores to walk around with children as there's loads for them to look at and play with. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Exclusive handmade kids clothes |
131 Bruntsfield Place Edinburgh EH10 4EB United Kingdom +44 131 228 5086 |
As new and expectant mums at the Bruntsfield Health Centre know, this corner shop full of colorful clothes for kids is near impossible to resist. Children of all ages are catered for, with labels such as Sucre D'Orge and Kaloo stocked alongside pieces created by the owners. The shop's signature style is lots of fleece with tartan or cute animal prints in bold colours. The outdoor wear is particularly good, and a warm snowsuit will cost around £20. There is always a sale rail too, and matching bootees and hats make good gifts. Collectors of Beanie Babies will find rarities and bargains here. There is another branch conveniently placed inside the Simpsons Maternity Hospital, and you will also find the brand represented at local craft and design shows in town. Review © 2007, Wcities |
