Lauriston Castle was left to the nation by William Reid, a cabinet-maker and antiques enthusiast. The 16th century tower house and 19th century extensions are set in immaculately kept grounds. The elegant Edwardian interior can only be viewed on guided tours, which start hourly. There are wonderful items of furniture, prints, paintings, porcelain and pieces of art.
